SAPANCA’NIN COĞRAFİ KONUMU

Sapanca is a district of Sakarya province. In terms of its location, Sapanca Lake is located in the north, Sakarya central district Adapazarı in the east, Samanlı Mountains, Geyve and Pamukova districts in the south, and Kocaeli central district İzmit in the west. Surrounded by the natural beauties of Sapanca Lake, the district draws attention with its mountain and lake views.

Sapanca has an area of 140 km2 and an altitude of 36 m from the sea. Sapanca, the district with the smallest area of Sakarya, has the highest population in terms of population density. Its climate is rainy in winter and is usually in the form of snow. In winter, it is hot and humid.

Sapanca's location has a strategic importance as it is close to the center of Sakarya and on the transportation route between Istanbul and Ankara. In addition, the TEM Highway passing through the district also contributes to Sapanca's transportation network. Sapanca's natural beauties, lake and location also have a great potential in terms of tourism.
